bcc: Portfolio
I'm working with several "clients" at this time, designing, posting and maintaining their web sites and helping to get their message or product across to their fans, clients, or the general audience out there.
Here's a list, with links to their web sites:
Sunset Empire Transportation District (The Bus)
This is the bus system on the North Oregon coast. They serve Clatsop County with routes from Cannon Beach to Westport, and connections to neighboring counties and Washington. (SETD has suffered through a major shakeup, and I no longer work on their website. However, the design of the site is mine, and the structure has remained the same.)
Nancy Merrill
Nancy is a friend from Seattle, and an accomplished artist and Tree Stewardess. Her latest project is raising chickens.
Astor Street Opry Company (ASOC)
Known for their original production Shanghaied in Astoria, this community theater troupe has also recently performed Arsenic & Old Lace, The Passion of Dracula, Godspell, and The Prisoner of Second Avenue. ASOC also produces children's theater, with a junior version of Shanghaied and the recently performed Once Upon A Shoe as examples. (Disclosure: I've been in several of the above plays.)
HIPFiSHmonthly
This free, local, monthly, alternative newspaper has been around the coast for decades, featuring the arts, food, alternative medicine, sustainability, and LGBT issues. (Disclosure: I write for HIPFiSH.)
North Coast Chorale (NCC)
The premier choral group in the Astoria area, NCC is hosting a choral festival next April, inviting chorales from all over the Pacific Northwest to sing and learn about singing. They perform two concerts a year, and have a tradition of hosting a Messiah singalong every year. (Disclosure: I sing tenor in the chorale.)
The Upper Left Edge (ULE or The Edge)
This progressive newspaper, started by Rev. Billy Hults and Michael Burgess in the 90s, is being reborn in electronic form by Watt Childress, proprietor of Jupiter's Books in Cannon Beach. (Disclosure: I write for ULE.)
Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition (OSCC or Oregon Shores)
This NGO works to protect the coastal region of Oregon, both the ocean and the land. They also run a very successful CoastWatch program, which monitors the coastal beaches with volunteers.
