Pandigital Fractions

On the North Coast Puzzle Club's April 2026 entry to the MathsJam Shout, a monthly puzzle newsletter sent to all the MathsJam groups around the world, we posted a problem that was an extension to a problem I spotted on a puzzle web site – can you find a fraction which uses all the digits from 1-9 once, and equals ⅓? In the Shout problem, we asked whether you could find all the pandigital fractions that equal each unit fraction from ½ to 1/19. It turns out that there are multiple solutions for many of the unit fractions, and some have no pandigital fraction solutions, with some having unique solutions. We asked whether the puzzler could find a pattern to the results, and what might cause that pattern. Well, in this app, you can input the denominator of the unit fraction and get the pandigital equivalents. Calculating these by hand is quite difficult, but if you're an avid puzzler, this resource can help check your manual solutions.
